Suicide Prevention and Intervention

Program content follows guidelines recommended by the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention. Through interactive, engaging group questions and answering, participants have the chance to self-teach key features of suicide prevention and intervention.

Key features include:

  • Signs and symptoms of suicidality
  • What to do if you suspect someone is suicidal
  • What to do if someone tells you they are suicidal
  • What to do if you, yourself are feeling hopeless
  • Identifying relevant community based resources

Concluding the formal learning surrounding suicide prevention and intervention, meaningful group conversations will be encouraged surrounding grief and suicide, healing at the individual, family and community level, and strategy to build and maintain positive mental, emotional, spiritual, cultural and physical health will be worked upon.
